Daniel Lucena
Minister

Daniel was born in Brazil and moved to the UK with his family in 2015. After eleven years at Crawley Community Church, he became Senior Minister of Woodley Baptist Church in 2026.
Daniel is a theologian and accredited counsellor, currently studying for an MA at Union School of Theology. He has also completed Gospel Coaching training with City to City.
He has many years of experience mentoring pastors, training church planters and supporting leaders in their emotional and pastoral wellbeing.
Daniel is married to Giovana and they have three daughters, plus Emily, their French Bulldog, who probably considers herself the fourth.
He loves Reformed theology, travelling, TV series, country music, rock ’n’ roll and a proper barbecue. Despite being Brazilian, his football is a continuing disappointment to his country, fortunately, his barbecue does considerably less damage to Brazil’s reputation.

Hello, I’m Graham. I’m married to Becky, and we have two children. I grew up in Surrey, where I ran my own landscaping business before going on to study Applied Theology in Youth and Community Work at Moorlands College.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work with young people in Surrey, Bournemouth and Ruislip, before joining the team at WBC in July 2014. I’m dedicated to helping children and young people, supporting them as they grow in confidence, explore faith and discover what it means to follow Jesus. I love creating opportunities for them to ask questions, build relationships and develop a faith that is meaningful to them.
Outside of church, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, socialising and playing sport.

Hi, I’m Lesley and I’m married to Paul, we have two grown-up boys and six grandchildren. I have been a member of Woodley Baptist Church for many years and before taking on the role of Office Manager I was the Pre-School Supervisor and then the Family Support Worker. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandkids and socialising. I love meeting new people and do my utmost to ensure that anyone who comes into the Church is made to feel welcome and at home.
The Wider Fellowship & Church Leadership Team (CLT)
Woodley Baptist Church was founded in November 1979 by a small group of local Christians, with 29 founder members. For the first few years we didn’t have a building so Sunday services were held in different halls in Woodley. The church grew steadily in numbers and we took the decision to build the Woodley Baptist Church Centre on the Woodley airfield estate, in February 1985. There has always been an understanding that we would provide community activities for the local area and, in 2001, with this in mind, we extended the building to include the purpose-built youth facility known as The Venue.
Our mission statement is “United in knowing Jesus and making Him known”.
